2021 Pear Week Events, Contests & Highlights

  • ​ Main Street Farm to Fork Dinner & Street Dance Kickoff -  Imagine attending a  Farm to Fork Dinner in Kelseyville! A wonderful family-style meal served down the middle of Main Street,  enjoying nothing but the freshest local produce  followed by dancing to tunes from one of our wonderful local musical groups!   Ticket sales on Eventbrite start July 1st at noon .
  • Pear Parade - The parade is chock full of kids, tractors, horse drawn wagons, antique cars, floats, and featured in the parade, the Grand Marshall, the Pear Prince and Princess of the Festival, and the winners of the Pear Dessert Contest.  Get your parade application here.
  • Pear Square Marketplace & Music -After the parade, enjoy some food and drink in Pear Square from your favorite non-profit organizations.  Check out the photos from the Pear Dessert Contest Winners, the  Pear Poster Arts Contest for the Middle School & High School,  the  Pear Poetry Contest, and Pear Prince & Princess Essay Contest AND some great music on the stage!

  • Annual Poster   - Each year, a Lake County artist  paints a themed Poster .  The  artwork is  then auctioned off with the proceeds being donated to a local cause.  A digitized version  is used in Festival advertising.    See    ​previous festival posters here.
  • Pear Prince & Princess Contest - 4th & 5th grade students from the Kelseyville elementary schools  participate in a pear-themed  essay contest.   Winners receive a $100 Savings Bond from WestAmerica Bank, retain their crowns,  and have a featured spot in the Parade!   
  • Dessert Contest - Do you have a signature Pear dessert recipe that’s better than anything else out there? Enter the Pear Dessert Contest ! Winners receive  gift certificates to local restaurants and have a featured spot in the Parade!  
  • The adult Pear Poetry Contest is new for 2021 and done with submissions to and judging by our Lake County Poet Laureate, Georgina Marie!   1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners received cash prizes $100/$50/$25! Find all of the details on our Facebook Event page! 
  • Pear Poster Art Contest for Mountain Vista Middle School  students AND Kelseyville High School  students.  Pears are the theme but the rest is up to the artist. There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner for both the MVMS students AND the KHS students with $100/1st, $50/2nd, and $25/3rd places.  Submissions to and judging by Lake County Rural Arts Initiative.   More info here.

Farm to Fork family-style dinner served  down the middle of Main Street Kelseyville followed by a  Street Dance!

 Wine  Pop-Up returns this year, featuring Lake County's finest wines!  
  • ​ ​Children's Activities -  Visit Kids' Town for fun and games!
  • Fine Arts Show -  The lobby of WestAmerica Bank is transformed into a fine arts show by the Konocti Art Society and the Konocti Art Club will be holding their  art sale and show at the Kelseyville Senior Center. Be sure to stop by and admire the eye popping classic and contemporary art presented for viewing and for sale.
  • ​​Pear Square -  Enjoy a collection of local photos and history, vintage tools and packing box labels as well as pear tasting and pear products.
  • Music - Filling the air all day is joyful noise; you can expect anything from hot jazz, solid gold rock, blazing fiddlers, and classic acoustical guitar.    There’s something for everyone!                                    
  • Food - Let's eat dessert first!  We feature anything from delicious pear pies, smooth cool pear shakes, and bowls of creamy pear ice cream along with a variety of other delicious street vendor treats!
  • Antique Tractor & Vintage Engine Exhibit - Antique tractors of all shapes, sizes, colors are the stately legendary farming workhorses. A collection of unique engines that do all sorts of things and some that do just nothing. Look for this collection on Main Street by the Kelsey Creek Bridge.
  • Vendors and Arts & Crafts Booths - Lining the streets is an amazing array of fine quality hand crafted items with a focus on pear inspired creations.
